You must complete a CONTEST ENTRY FORM and a RELEASE FORM and bring them to the Registration Desk on the day of your audition, with your REGISTRATION FEE of $25.00 (See “Registration Fee” below). The forms are available for download at www.cmhRoadToFame.com It is recommended that you complete the forms before arriving at the audition to speed your registration and ensure you have all necessary documents, but blank forms will be available at the Registration desk. The Registration Desk will open one (1) hour prior to the scheduled start time of the audition at each audition venue.
To be eligible to compete, contestants must be no younger than thirteen [13] years of age as of January 1 in the year of their participation in the contest and must be no older than thirty five [35] years of age as of January 1 in the year of their participation in the contest. At Registration a contestant must provide two [2] forms of ID that show proof of age and a photograph (for example, a birth certificate and driver's license or a birth certificate and a passport or a birth certificate and a school ID card).
Contestants who are under 18 on the date of the audition must be accompanied to both the Registration and the Audition by a parent or legal guardian who must bring a photo ID [for example, a driver’s license or passport]. In addition to their photo ID, if you are accompanied by a legal guardian, as opposed to a parent, your legal guardian MUST bring legal documentation evidencing their relationship with you (for example, a court order). The same parent or legal guardian must accompany you to both the registration and audition.
To be eligible to enter the contest, contestants must be residing in one of the following counties in Kentucky at the time of the audition and throughout the duration of the contest, if selected to compete in subsequent rounds:
Letcher, Pike, Floyd, Johnson, Lawrence, Boyd, Greenup, Harlan, Perry, Knott, Magoffin, Morgan, Elliott, Carter, Martin and Lewis counties in Kentucky.
Exception: Contestants WILL be considered eligible to compete if they currently reside outside the counties listed above (for example, due to college attendance or employment) but must provide at registration documented proof, such as a birth certificate, that they were born in one of the said eligible counties.
To be eligible as a contestant in THE ROAD TO FAME, neither you nor any of your immediate family members (spouse, ex-spouse, parents, siblings, children, step-children) or members of your household (whether or not related to you) are current employees, directors, officers, independent contractors, agents, or representatives of PCG Nashville, Porter-Gentry Productions, The Country Music Highway and its subsidiaries and affiliates; any person or entity involved in the development, production, distribution, or other exploitation of the Program or any variation thereof; any sponsor of the Program or its or their advertising agency; or any person or entity supplying services or prizes to the Program. Producer reserves the right to remove from the Program any person it determines, in its sole discretion, is sufficiently connected with the Program or any of the entities described in this paragraph such that such person’s participation in the Program could create the appearance of impropriety.
Additionally, to be eligible as a contestant, you must be able to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Producer at that time that you do not have any of the following agreements in effect (written or oral):
There is a one-time registration fee of Twenty Five Dollars [$25.00] per act, payable by cash, check, cashier’s check, regardless of the number of performances during the course of the competition. The fee is non-refundable. Checks should be made payable to “CMH Road To Fame.” (Note: Returned checks will incur a charge of $25.00 and will result in the disqualification of the contestant.)
The Country Music Highway Road to Fame Committee – CMH RTF (“Producer”) is authorized to resolve all disputes. Producer is the sole authority in resolving all disputes throughout the contest, and retains the right to disqualify any contestant at any level of the contest for failure to comply with the rules and regulations, including errors and omissions. Producer’s decisions are final.
The following rules relate to performance as part of The Road to Fame contest:
The only official prize at the audition level and subsequent levels is the opportunity for the winner to advance to the next level of the contest. Contestants must pay their own expenses, including travel and lodging, etc., if necessary, at all levels of the contest. At the Grand Final, A prize package will be provided to the Grand Prize Winner, (details TBA) with additional prizes awarded to the runners up. Each runner up will receive a consolation prize and a certificate of achievement. Other prizes and gifts may be provided by participating sponsors.
Contestants are solely responsible for any federal, state or local taxes related to the value of prizes received. Winners will receive a 1099 tax form relating to prizes, where applicable.
The Grand Prize Winner will be required to represent the Country Music Highway at various events throughout the year and will promote the ROAD TO FAME contest in the lead-up to the following year’s contest, and will sign an Agreement to this effect. The Grand Prize Winner agrees to act in a manner that reflects positively on the Country Music Highway and the ROAD TO FAME at all times. If the contestant selected as Grand Prize Winner is unable or unwilling to perform this role, or if for any reason is disqualified as the Grand Prize Winner, the Producer reserves the right to replace him or her with one of the runners-up and may require the return of any prizes that have been awarded.
To become eligible to compete, all contestants (and their parent or legal guardian, where applicable) must read and sign the official ROAD TO FAME RELEASE FORM that may be downloaded from the Road To Fame Web site www.cmhRoadToFame.com
Contestants who have supplied all the necessary documentation and have been deemed eligible to compete by Registration officials will be given a wristband and a numbered label that must be worn during the audition. If a wristband or numbered label is lost or removed, they cannot be replaced and the contestant will be ineligible to compete.
